How To Raise Your Vibrational Frequency

Sometimes we can feel a bit low - perhaps that the world is against us, joy has evaporated, or it might just be a heaviness that makes everything so much effort.

This might be due to an event or situation that has happened in our life, or it could be that there is no apparent reason - or at least a reason that we're aware of.

So what can we do in those times when feeling positive seems a million miles away and everything feels like a struggle?

I experienced a few days like this last week and was reminded that cultivating gratitude can be a powerful healer to help us get us back in balance and into a lighter, happier 'vibration'. So, I started to remind myself of all the things that I am grateful for. However, I quickly realised that it's rather challenging to actually feel gratitude when you're under such a heavy weight.

However, a little trick that worked for me and may also work for you, is to imagine how you would feel if you didn't have whatever you are trying to feel grateful for.

For example, you could say, "I am so grateful to have somewhere warm and dry to live." Then imagine that you don't have a warm and dry place to live. What would that feel like? What would it look like?

Then come back to what you do have now, and notice if it's easier to feel a stronger sense of gratitude for it.

Now, just like it takes some time to steer an ocean liner back on course, it can also take a little time for these feelings of gratitude to work their magic. So while you're waiting, be patient with yourself and have loving allowance for where you are at this moment. It's okay to feel down - it's all part of the dance and contrasts of life.

By accepting yourself and simply allowing yourself to be in this moment, you're not trying to resist or suppress negative feelings (which usually makes them stronger).

Accepting ourselves as we are doesn't mean that we let negative feelings control our responses.

Instead, think of it as an opportunity to imagine you are observing yourself in the present moment, and give yourself the power and choice to make conscious decisions about how you would like to be and act in any given situation.

Accepting yourself as you are also doesn't mean that you have to stay in that state. You always have the power and choice to raise your vibration and return to a truer version of yourself through the power of gratitude.
