What Is Cutting The Ties That Bind?
Cutting The Ties That Bind is based upon the work of Phyllis Krystal, and is an effective therapy for healing the limiting beliefs that we form from our parents or caregivers during early childhood.
Adverse childhood experiences cause us to create limiting beliefs as a coping mechanism to survive in the world at that time. In addition, we tend to copy both positive and negative traits of our mother and father because they are the most important people in our lives - our role models - during those early years of development.
However, in later life, these unhelpful subconscious programmes are still running and tend to hold us back from living the life we want. As a result, we typically experience the same negative situations happening to us again and again for no logical reason. This is because our reality is shaped by our choices and perceptions, which are strongly influenced our subconscious beliefs.
It's important to understand that this therapy does not 'cut you off' from your mother or father in any way. It actually enhances the positive energetic connections between you and your parent, while significantly reducing the strength of negative subconscious beliefs that are not in alignment with your relationship to them and others.
After Cutting The Ties, many people discover that they are less 'triggered' by the parent they 'worked on' and by other situations in their life. As a result, their life opens up to new possibilities of growth, flow and joy and they empower themselves to become their authentic, magnificent self.
During the Cutting The Ties therapy, you will be able to identify how you were affected by your parents, and release those subconscious programmes. By doing this, you can free yourself from unwanted repeating patterns in your life as well as discovering and connecting with who you are at a deeper level.
Is Cutting The Ties That Bind Right For Me?
If you keep attracting the same kind of negative experiences into your life, then it's highly likely that you will benefit from Cutting The Ties with one or both of your parents. For example, some people might find themselves repeatedly 'triggered' and upset by their partner, parents, boss or someone else in their life. Others might experience a recurring 'block' to their career progression.
The process of releasing the limiting beliefs we have carried from our childhood can take a lifetime of struggle and repeating mistakes. However, the Cutting The Ties therapy offers significant healing in just a few months. There are many 'cutting the cords' therapies available that claim you can do it in just one or two sessions, but this is not usually the case. If done properly with an experienced facilitator, Cutting The Ties That Bind usually takes between 6 to 10 weeks for each parent.
Early Childhood Conditioning - The Bigger Picture
It's worth noting that before you incarnated in your present life, you agreed with your parents that they would 'play their parts' to give you this negative conditioning on Earth. These experiences would then lead you to develop the limiting beliefs that you want to work on, so that you can then heal these aspects of yourself in later life. When you heal on the Earth plane, you heal in spirit - that is the magic of our journey here on Earth.
Usually, your parents or caregivers are not consciously aware that they are giving you this conditioning. They will simply be trying their best to care for you and bring you up as best as they know how. There is no judgement or blame here - Cutting The Ties That Bind is actually a very loving and compassionate therapy, and ultimately benefits all parties involved.
Supporting Therapies
For maximum effectiveness, it is important that the Cutting The Ties process is supplemented with hypnotic regression, regular dream analysis and counselling. We will use these approaches to determine which parent you need to Cut The Ties with first, as we only do one parent at a time. We'll also use dream analysis to track the progress of the therapy. Counselling through discussion of your feelings, emotions and thoughts is also an important part of the process.
In addition, we will also incorporate other therapies as appropriate to support Cutting The Ties, including energy work such as Qi Gong, hands-on healing (if you are able to visit in person), breathwork and Tapas Acupressure Technique.
Can't Remember Your Dreams?
Tracking your dreams is an important part of the Cutting The Ties process. If you currently find it difficult to remember your dreams, don't worry! I will coach you in our beginning sessions using simple and effective methods and you will soon be recalling your dreams regularly.
Is This The Right Time?
It is important that you are in the right physical, mental and emotional 'space' so you can successfully complete the Cutting The Ties therapy. Firstly, you'll need to be able to commit to meeting weekly over a 6-10 week period. Each meeting is an hour long and can be held as a video call, or we can meet in person at our studio in Tring, Hertfordshire, UK.
During the free discovery call that I offer to all of my clients, we will be able to determine if Cutting The Ties is appropriate for you at this time. The therapy does bring up difficult emotions and feelings, so if you have any stressful events coming up, then it is usually wise to wait until afterwards when you will have a 'clear run'.
Daily Practice and Support
The core of the Cutting The Ties therapy is a 5-minute visualisation repeated twice daily, e.g. morning and evening. You'll receive a guided audio recording to help you with this, or it's fine to do the visualisation yourself.
Before each weekly meeting, I will ask you to send me some of your dreams so that I can analyse them ready for us to explore in our session.
Throughout the whole process, I will be there to support you with advice, encouragement and answers to your questions.
Once the therapy is concluded, I offer a free follow-up session about 1-2 months after the our final session. This will help you to gain a deeper perspective of your healing journey, including understanding how your inner and outer worlds have changed as a result of the therapy, and the next step on your spiritual path.
